    Students may qualify for up to $18,000 in an ODU scholarship package based on cumulative GPA. At the time of acceptance, we’ll let you know whether you’re eligible for a merit-based scholarship. Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Then we’ll calculate your financial aid package and send that information to you for your review and acceptance. ODU’s FAFSA school code is 003035.

Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    Transfer applicants are generally acceptable if they show evidence of a good academic standing at the institution previously attended and have achieved a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.0 on a 4.0 grading scale in their previous college-level academic coursework.
  • Official Transcripts:
    Send us your official college transcripts and we’ll review your course evaluation with you. If you’ve completed less than 24 transferrable semester credit hours, you’ll need to also submit your official high school transcripts.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    ODU accepts all credits from college-level courses taken through regionally accredited two-year or four-year institutions in which you received a grade of C- or higher.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    Regardless of the number of credits acceptable for transfer, residency requirements mandate that a minimum of 30 semester credits are earned at ODU for a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 24 semester credits for an Associate degree.
